The ability to tell a great story goes well beyond the gear.
That’s our belief at least. During the summer of 2016, we explored this topic with Cinematographer/Director Ty Evans at Woodward PA’s Digital Media Camp.
This year, we’re excited to share that we have teamed up with Camp Woodward and Ty Evans to create the first ever, Woodward Digital Media Camp, Beyond the Gear Sponsorship!
One lucky student will be selected to attend a week of Digital Media Camp in Woodward PA, August 4-10, 2019, courtesy of Camp Woodward and SmallHD. Lodging, meals, and travel expenses will be paid for.
Joining Ty Evans for Week 10 at Camp Woodward is J.P. de Lespinois of SHOTOVER. These filmmakers will work alongside Woodward Digital Media to provide an eye-opening, hands-on experience for young creatives.
What will a week of Digital Media Camp be like?
With world-class facilities, an extraordinary staff, and an incredibly beautiful backdrop, Woodward PA is an oasis for sports and multimedia enthusiasts alike.
Digital Media campers have the opportunity to attend daily workshops, have access to video equipment and computer lab; all designed to educate and inspire young creatives.
“Our program ensures that all campers know or learn the basics of videography, like composition, exposure, focus, lighting, and editing software. Woodward Pennsylvania’s Video Production program gives campers of all abilities the opportunity to build their filmmaking skills.”

Does the student nominee need to have video experience and/or a video camera to attend?

How will the winner be selected?
Applications for the scholarship will be brought before the selection team, comprised of representatives from Ghost Digital Cinema, SHOTOVER, Camp Woodward, and SmallHD.
The winner will be selected July 19th, 2019.
